This workshop offers an introduction to the practices and benefits of somatic yoga. Somatic yoga is a way of moving that brings ease to the body. Stress is released, the nervous system is calmed. The workshop blends hatha yoga, somatic movement, breathwork, structural anatomical awareness of habitual patterns leading to neck and shoulder conditions, and exploration of the energetic anatomy and patterns leading to stress and strain. This practice is meant to release tension, restore balance and cultivate embodied awareness.

About Your Teacher:
Jennifer Swaringen is an orthopaedic surgeon, yoga teacher, wife, and mother. She started practicing yoga over 20 years ago, first as a way to exercise and manage stress. It has become a life-long path of growth, allowing her to find peace within, self-acceptance and deeper connections with herself and others. Her goal is to make yoga accessible and welcoming to everyone, regardless of experience. She offers gentle guidance and modifications, creating a space for students to explore and connect with body, breath, and mind. She also works individually and in small groups as a yoga therapist, helping students work with their current conditions, guiding them towards awareness, healing, and transformation. She is grateful for the opportunity to share the magic and healing of this practice with others.
· 500 RYT Yoga Teacher Training at Lotus Pond in Tampa, FL
· Currently enrolled in 1000 hour Certified Yoga Therapist training
· Specialized trainings in Yin Yoga, Restorative, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra
