Somatic Spontaneous Watercolor Session

About the Workshop

With a focus on painting what we feel, and not what we see, we'll begin the evening w/ a Somatic check-in on our bodies, minds, and Spirit. With Loving Grace, we'll take what comes up for us during the check-in, and put it on the paper through the spontaneous use of pigments, and life-giving water.

We'll take a break to allow our first washes to dry, and to give us some distance from the work - a moment to connect deeper with our fellow humans.

Our second paint session centers around finding Shape & Meaning from our spontaneous first washes. This is the really fun part, and it's truly remarkable what you'll discover in a painting without direction. As facilitator, my intention is to simply guide everyone in looking more deeply at their own work (and lives), and to see from the perspective of a higher lens.

*A 3-hour container to feel safe and at ease, please come dressed in your most comforting clothes. There will be curated Lo-Fi music and light vegan snacks - feel free to bring your own. All skill levels welcomed, beginners & neurodivergent folx are highly encouraged!

What's Provided

Paints & artist grade paper will be provided by kid˚MANDU.

What To Bring

• Please provide your own brush(es),
• a large cup/mug,
• and a palette for mixing paints (this can be a flat dinner plate, or other flat waterproof surface that brings you joy).
• A towel, rag or paper towel will come in handy for drying and cleaning your brushes.
