This course is for you who are carrying a little one in your womb - a space of connection, for community and for embodied preparation. A space to explore and root into what this journey into motherhood is for you, and how we can meet the fluctuations when we move beyond the one-size-fits-all.
Through five weeks, we gather in circle to share, to connect and to weave together somatic practices and birthwork.
This is not your typical prenatal class. It’s an invitation to explore your body, your voice, your boundaries, your tendencies and your agency - as you prepare to meet this transformative journey into motherhood.
ABOUT THIS COURSE:
We'll dive into the topics of:
Birth hormones, nervous system & the non-linear character of birth’s unfolding
Movement, sound, voice & vibration as means of support to meet the ebb and flow of contractions
Resourcing, responsibility & bodily autonomy
Fourth trimester: the early postpartum phase
We'll exploring how we meet the uncontrollable through practices of:
Somatic movement practices, inspired by Somatic Flow, Shake the Dust & Prenatal Yoga
Sharings in circle & prompts for self-reflections
Rituals, affirmations & visualizations
Rebozo techniques and partner support for labor
We'll reflect on and create:
A Birth letter: the essence of your values and wishes
A Resourcing List: not Instagram’s, but yours
A Postpartum Letter: to the future you, with softness and care
The aim of this course is not to present a right and wrong, not to direct you along your pregnancy or to make you fit into yet another prescribed box. Rather, our hope is to support you in creating a foundation rooted in your values and in integrated resources, so you can meet the fluctuations and uncontrollability of pregnancy, birth and motherhood from an anchored place within. Whether it’s your first or fifth baby, you’re welcome as you are.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:
Thit Schmidt: an experienced Doula and somatic movement teacher. Rooted in a passion for the innate wisdom and capabilities of our bodies and a firm belief in the value of community, she supports women through the journey and transitions of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Janni Popp: a somatic movement teacher, physiotherapist and mother of a little son. She is in awe of the human body, anatomy and physiology, and how everything inside is mirrored outside and vice versa. Since becoming a mother that amazement has only gotten bigger, as watching a little human grow itself has been the wildest reminder of the innate wisdom we all carry within our cells.
