You are warmly invited to join us for a movement experience like no other.Somatic Dance is an exploration of self through intuitive movements, guided by a carefully crafted soundscape.
No experience is needed. Let yourself be guided into a story that you can shape with the movements of your body. A space where we turn down the volume of our thoughts and drop into the sensing, feeling body.
We traverse different rhythms - from soft and flowing to strong and powerful beats, some chaos and then to surrender and stillness - each representing different aspects of the human experience.
With the beginning of Spring, we honour the seat of the divine feminine power of creation - our womb space - dark, warm and nurturing. A space within to conceive and to grow - a child, an idea, a purpose. It is down in our wombs that we find trust in our bodies, in connection with others, and in the rhythms of Mother Nature.
Our wombs hold not just our personal stories, but the stories of our ancestors and are our portal into the future beyond our own living experience.
Bring yourself, open and curious, in relaxed easy to move clothing. A yoga mat and blanket may help you feel comfy and warm at the beginning and end.
Nothing else is needed.
We begin by arriving with breath and meditation, move into embodying our story through movement and then end in circle with chai and chocolate.
