Unlock the power of your body and experience deep healing through Somatic Dance in this new offering from Lindsey Gill at Practice Yoga (804 South 4th St, Philadelphia PA 19107).
This class combines the mindful practices of yoga with the free-flowing energy of dance, creating a transformative experience that connects body, mind, and spirit. Whether you're new to movement or a seasoned dancer, this class is designed for all levels and offers a safe, nurturing environment to explore your body’s potential.
In this class, learn somatic movement techniques rooted in yoga anatomy and breathwork science. Engage in deeper body awareness, tuning into sensations in both the physical and subtle bodies (chakras, energy lines, and the nervous system all play a role in this class).
NO DANCE OR YOGA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED–ALL BODIES WELCOME.
Through gentle warm-up stretches and breathwork, Lindsey will guide all into an ecstatic dance practice. Lindsey encourages all who attend to move with the intention of releasing built up emotions–from your deepest joy to your deepest rage, to maybe even your deepest grief. Because of the somatic nature of this class, yelling, screaming, laughing, and crying are all encouraged and allowed. This is a safe container to let it all out without judgement or fear of doing the class “wrong”.
What to Expect:
- 10-15 minutes guided stretching, breathing, and intention-setting
- Guided dance exploration to release stored emotions and tension
- An intimate studio space that fosters creative and self-expression without judgment or preconceived ideas of what dance “should” look like.
- Blended-in custom yoga guidance and one-on-one (optional) tips from certified teacher Lindsey Gill
- Beautifully curated EDM music from a range of Spotify artists that everyone can dance to.

This class is perfect for anyone seeking a holistic movement practice—whether you're a yoga practitioner looking to expand your practice or someone simply looking to connect with your body in a new, intuitive way. No prior dance experience is required—just an open heart and a willingness to move!
