What do you think of when you hear the word 'gospel'?For many people - both followers of Jesus and not - it's merely the fact that Jesus' death and resurrection is good news because we get to go to heaven one day. But the gospel is so much more: it is good news to our past, in our present, and for our future! And it's that reason that God invites his people to become 'fluent' in the gospel - to see the implications of Jesus' life, death, resurrection and reign, as the default lens through which we see the world, and to speak the gospel so naturally that it feels like our 'mother tongue.' But of course, that isn't easy - so let's learn and practice together!

Gospel fluency is the solution to our unbelieving hearts. Yes, the gospel is the answer to those who have not yet believed in Jesus. But it is also the answer to believers who continue to walk in unbelief in many areas of their life, not trusting his Word and living in light of what Jesus has accomplished for us. Gospel fluency is believing the gospel and speaking the truths of the gospel into the everyday stuff of life. We hope you'll join us this June as we all take a step toward becomign more gospel fluent!
ABOUT BEN & JESS
Ben and Jess have been in ministry together for over 20 years, including helping to start two
churches, and equipping everyday disciples, ministry leaders, and church planters across the world
through The Equipping Group.
In addition to being a pastor, Ben has written/contributed to several books, workbooks, articles, and
publications, has overseen church planting efforts for multiple organisations. He also occasionally
teaches university and seminary classes.
Jess has coached ministry wives and church planting resident couples for the past 5+ years. She also runs operations for a bakery and hospitality company in Fort Worth, TX, called Hurley House. They have three children and, at times, host short-term foster kids too.
Ben and Jess travelled out to Australia in July 2022 to train and encourage churches and to share at the Soma National Retreat. Ben was also out serving the Australian church in 2017, and in June 2023 for our first Australian Soma School.
