Solstice Soundwalk with Mika Haykowsky

New Music Edmonton wraps up the 2024 calendar year with a really beautiful way to experience winter in our city: a solstice sunset soundwalk (hopefully) in the snow! There is nothing like a beautiful December sunset here, and it’s a great chance to get out for a walk and listen to what our city sounds like in the winter. If you’ve never gone on a soundwalk before, it’s easy, and amazing: we’ll gather at an agreed place and one of our community’s great artists will lead us on a carefully chosen route through the sonically rich environment we enjoy here. If you think it’s all car noise and such, you will be delighted to find out how many wonderful things you can hear!

We will, of course, keep an eye on the weather and will adjust the date and time if it’s not safe to be out! Please dress appropriately for the weather.
