Solstice Hike with Dirty Girl Adventures

Join Compass Point home of Dirty Girl Adventures for our Annual Solstice Hike and gathering on December 21st, 2024!

This is the shortest day of the year and a good time to consider the days that came before and celebrate the lengthening of days to come. What better way to mark the shortest day of 2024 than together?! Bundle up, find your headlamp and grab a friend to join in on this annual tradition to mark the end of the year. We’ll enjoy time on the trail and then gather for time around the fire. Plan to hike a couple of miles on a trail through the woods that includes, steep inclines/declines and uneven surfaces. Since Solstice falls on a Saturday, we can skip hiking in the dark! We will end the hike as the sun goes down with a ceremonial fire starting! You will need your headlamp post hike!

Dirty Dogs are invited if they are leashed for the entire event.

Detailed directions will be emailed to participants before the event.

When: Saturday December 21st

Check in time: 2:30pm

Location: TO BE DETERMINED - LIKELY NEAR LAKE PERRY

Bring/Wear: Dress in layers, hat/gloves, HEADLAMP/FLASHLGHT, chair, lap blanket, your beverage of choice hors d'oeuvres and snack foods to share around the fire. We will bring the table and build the fire.

Club cost: $30

What are you paying for? Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC will organize the event, provide a guide, support on the trail and docent information throughout the event. We will monitor the weather and conditions to ensure that our event and participants are safe. Our knowledgeable and informed guide service includes a leading guide and a sweep guide during the hike. Trail support including: first aid, knowledge of the environment and locale, safety monitoring, pacing, interpretive information on the environment and location.

In case you are wondering about our refund policy – refunds are given up to two weeks before the date of the event when the refund is requested in an email directed to [email protected]. After that, there are no refunds. Dirty Girl Adventures may cancel an event due to weather or conditions. Everyone will receive a refund if that is the reason for the cancellation. We will paddle and hike in cool, rainy or snowy conditions. Cancellation only occurs in severe weather or other dangerous conditions.
