Celebrate the summer solstice by slowing down and communing with the natural world. The afternoon of the solstice we will engage in the practice of creating floral crowns and forest bathing. We will explore the meanings of the solstice as part of a cycle of the natural world and how these themes might present themselves in our own natural lives.
We will discuss a brief history of the purpose of floral headdresses and provide step-by-step directions for a hands on practice of making one of your own. We will also review best ways to preserve your flower crown as decorative adornment or ritualistic use.
We will then bring these creative pieces into the forest to offer presence to self and the more-than-human-world through experiential nature and forest therapy practices.
This is an offering of re-calibration and regulation for your own internal ecosystem, you are invited.

Annie Ventullo is a folk crafter, mushroom forager and lover of the woods. When she isn't playing with forest-found items, she is a practicing ecotherapist, death doula, research therapist and educator.
