SOLSTICE 2025

SOLSTICE: Reflections on Winter Light is an annual event at Mount Auburn Cemetery that includes an outdoor journey through large-scale light and sound artworks, created by MASARY, a Lantern Walk, and an indoor experience with candle lighting and live music. For the 2025 event, there will be four new artworks!

For Your Safety: We strongly encourage attendees to dress warmly and wear suitable footwear. SOLSTICE is, primarily, an outdoor event and the route includes small hills, some stairs, pavement, and uneven terrain. Attendees must follow all instructions and guidance from Event Staff and stay on the illuminated path/inside the chapels. Please help us preserve Mount Auburn's beauty and respect the families of those buried here and do not stray from the paved areas.

TICKET CLARIFICATIONS

Adult - $35

Elevated Ticket Experience for an additional $50 add-on per ticket. The Elevated Ticket Experience (ETE) provides guests with an enhanced SOLSTICE experience, including complimentary parking, curated food and beverage offerings, access to a heated indoor space, private restrooms, and additional amenities. Guests may choose from one of three available ETE timeslots: 5:30 PM, 7:00 PM, or 8:30 PM. Please purchase GA tickets for the same time slot as your ETE ticket.

Please note: your Elevated Experience includes one hour of access to the indoor space in the Administration Building during your selected timeslot. While you're not required to stay for the full hour, we recommend starting your visit at the Admin Building to enjoy the amenities before continuing outside on the main SOLSTICE walk. You are also welcome to return to the indoor space at any point during your reserved time.

Current Friends of Mount Auburn Cemetery (FOMAC) members will receive a discount code in September 2025 which will allow them to access the 10% member discount on the regular Adult ticket. Members are restricted to two discounted adult tickets.

A FOMAC membership offers a variety of benefits including member-only events, invitations to special events, and discounted tickets to all public programs, including SOLSTICE. Become a FOMAC member before October 15, 2025 and save $15 on your membership. This $60 membership (usually $75) will not be offered at any other time of year. to become a FOMAC member.

Youth (ages 2-12) - $5

Children under the age of 2 do not require tickets. Please select this as an add on after selecting your adult ticket and add the number of children in your party.

Pay What You Want (Tues, Dec 9 Only) - Adult $35, $25, or $15

Pay What You Want tickets are only available to non-members. Please only purchase these reduced price tickets if you lack the financial means to afford a full-priced ticket. These tickets are only available for sale on Dec 9.

Memorialization Wall Add On - $5

Commemorate a loved one by including their name on the Memorialization Wall. All submitted names will be displayed in one of the chapels during the event as a tribute to those we've lost.

There are no refunds or exchanges for SOLSTICE except in the case of a weather cancellation.
