"Around Louis Couperin"
Jean Rondeau, one of the most imaginative keyboard artists of his generation, returns to San Diego to open our Solo Series with an all-Louis Couperin program, celebrating the composer’s 400th birthday year.
The first piece Rondeau ever played, at age six or seven, was by Louis Couperin. Decades later, he recorded 300 pieces across 12 hours of music, a monumental 10-disc project that was just crowned Gramophone’s 2026 Recording of the Year and Instrumental Award Winner.
