Solo Charleston and Jazz

Have you ever wanted to dance like the Cool Catz?
Join us for a fun and friendly class exploring Charleston, Solo Jazz and classic jazz steps.
These dances grew from Black American jazz culture and went on to influence all sorts of social dances, from swing dancing through to moves you still spot on dance floors today.
You’ll learn steps, rhythms and little routines that help build confidence, coordination and your own solo jazz vocabulary. We’ll also play with musicality, styling and ways to mix things up, so you can start to make the moves your own rather than just copying a routine.
This class is great if you’re completely new, if you already do any swing-family dancing, or if you’re interested in building towards something like the Jenny Thomas Jammers in the future. No performance ambitions needed though — it’s also just a lovely way to dance, move and have fun.

Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in, shoes that aren’t too grippy if possible, and bring some water.
