Solidarity with Palestine: Fundraiser for Gaza Skate Team & others

Join us on Saturday 3rd August in Peckham, where we will come together to celebrate the role of skating culture in building solidarity with Palestine through an afternoon of film screenings, discussion, music, art and more.

Hosted across Copelands Skatepark and Copeland Social, situated together in SE15, the programme will run from 4pm to 12am, kicking off with a screening of short film, 'Walls Cannot Keep Us from Flying', directed by Jonathan Mehring in 2021, alongside a Q&A with the film’s protagonists, Yasmin and Omar.
Following that, we’ll hear a panel discussion featuring speakers from Skaters Against Genocide and SkatePal, around the role of skating in building solidarity.
DJs will begin at 7pm, with sets from Mahnoor, RONISA, MUSYS, FROND and Yasmine.
Throughout the day & night we’ll have a raffle running with prizes kindly donated by friends and partners, alongside stalls, a photography display and open skating in the park. More info to come across the next two weeks via our instagram @pollination.uk

All proceeds will be split three ways: 1. Defence for Children, Palestine. 2. Gaza Skate Team 3. the protagonists of the film, Omar and Yasmin.
This event is free entry, with a suggested donation on the door. Spaces are limited; to guarantee your spot, we recommend purchasing a £5 donation ticket here in advance.
