"As an essential part of God's saving plan for the mother of his son was that she be conceived free of Original Sin. Through the centuries the Church became ever more aware that Mary, 'Full of Grace' through God was redeemed from the moment of her conception" (ccc.no. 491). This is the doctrine of her Immaculate Conception. The Church remembers and celebrates this mystery of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a Holy Day of Mass Obligation at 11am and 7pm Masses.
