Strelley Hall in Nottingham is a large haunted house with a long, dark past. Dating back to the 1200s, this building has many rooms to investigate including an ancient cellar which is said to leave even the most hardened ghost hunters running for the exit!
HISTORY OF STRELLEY HALL
Strelley Hall sits in a small village in Nottingham, with a reputation for ghostly sightings and paranormal activity. Originally built as a Castle in the 1200s, the current building has many period features, including an underground room known as the Dungeon and the Panelled Room dating back to Georgian times. There was a medieval tower which has now been incorporated into todays hall creating the Castle Bedroom, Castle Room and medieval cellar below. The Gate Lodge has medieval walls, and at the front of the main building is an underground room known as The Dungeon. This was used during the 20th century to imprison poachers but during the time of the Castle, would have been used for imprisoning and torturing enemies.
GHOSTS OF STRELLEY HALL
Strelley Hall has macabre history thanks to it's 13th century connections. Guests have experienced full apparitions, unexplained moans and other noises, poltergeist activity and a number of sinister spirits believed to be connected to it's time as a castle site.
