Dubbed 'the Hendrix of the Sahara' (The Guardian), prodigious Tuareg guitarist and songwriter Mdou Moctar boldly reforges contemporary Saharan music and rock music. His band’s explosive, uncontainable live sound melds Eddie Van Halen pyrotechnics, full-blast noise, field recordings, electronic drums, poetic meditations on love, religion, women's rights, inequality and Western Africa’s exploitation at the hands of colonial powers to rip a new hole in the sky.
Mdou shreds with relentless, frenetic energy and you’ll be blown away by his fiery, psychedelic rock show.
