Step into the vibrant world of Italian aperitivo culture and learn how to prepare three appetizers: Roasted Tomato and Burrata Crostini, Prosciutto and Melon, and a classic Antipasto Platter. The class will conclude with a meal of the delicious appetizers prepared in class.

Hands-on Participation: Students will have the opportunity to volunteer to assist the instructor during the appetizer preparation or choose to sit back, relax, and observe.

What You Will Learn
- Antipasto Platter Balancing: Master the art of the perfect antipasto board by learning how to seamlessly contrast and balance briny, fatty, salty, and rich flavor elements.
- Sourcing & Selection: Demystify the cheese counter and grocery store aisles. Learn exactly what cheeses to pick, and where to buy authentic ingredients.
- Elevate Classics: Learn how to elevate the classic Italian appetizer of Prosciutto and Melon using pantry staples
- The Art of the Italian Aperitivo: Understand the "Italian way of eating," exploring how small starter plates can transition into a full meal depending on portion sizes.
Class Schedule
- Introduction to the Italian Aperitivo (15 mins): Welcome, instructor introductions, and a deep dive into the Italian way of cultural eating. Discussion on how bite-sized appetizers can scale into an entire meal depending on your presentation and portion sizes.
- Antipasto Platter Demo (40 mins): A detailed discussion on flavor balancing rich meats with acidic accompaniments, and insider tips on the best local shops for buying authentic Italian products.
- Roasted Tomato & Burrata Crostini Demo (35 mins): Prepping bread, roasting tomatoes, and assembling the elements by layering fresh burrata, warm blistered tomatoes, and a premium glaze drizzle onto perfectly toasted crostini.
- Break (10 mins): A brief leg stretch, station cleanup, and beverage refreshment refill.
- Prosciutto & Melon Pairing (15 mins): Interactive demonstration and assembly focusing on the iconic sweet-and-savory match.
- Snacking & Socializing (30 mins): The best part! Relax, mingle with classmates, and enjoy eating the spread of beautiful appetizers you built together.
Amenities Included
- Refreshments: Access to a snack counter including house-made non-alcoholic drinks, charcuterie and fruit skewers, and a Keurig coffee station
- Tools & Equipment: All necessary tools and equipment required to prepare this dish are provided
- Recipes: Every student receives recipe handouts so these dishes can be recreated at home
- Meal: Students will eat all the appetizers prepared in class
Notes:
- Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE! If you are unable to attend the class, you may transfer the ticket to another person. Tickets are not transferable to another class.
- Doors will open 10 minutes before listed class start time. Students wishing to grab seats together are encouraged to arrive when doors open, otherwise we cannot guarantee reserved seating regardless if tickets were purchased together or not.
