SOLAR POWERED GENERATOR: BOYSCOUTMARIE X WE WIGGLE DOLLS

SOLAR-POWERED GENERATOR is an audio-visual live music spectacle, created in collaboration between the Brooklyn-based band BOYSCOUTMARIE and the puppetry organization We Wiggle Dolls. In this production, the band performs behind an oversized white sheet as the light artists in one moment recontextualize their silhouettes in psychedelic colors and textures, and in the next stretch and distort their images using mobile light sources. SOLAR-POWERED GENERATOR is a synesthetic rarity: a transportive realization of a songbook’s full potential.

BOYSCOUTMARIE is blowing minds and moving hearts in Brooklyn with their profoundly realized music and explosive live shows. An excitingly original, yet beautifully nostalgic “genre buffet” rock trio, they have developed a sound lovingly referred to as “soft and hard”. The psychological effects of engaging with BOYSCOUTMARIE music include hallucinations and an inability to discern fantasy from reality. We Wiggle Dolls is a Brooklyn based puppet event organization/collective born out of a recurring variety puppet show (or “puppet slam”) of the same name. Since October 2023, We Wiggle Dolls has hosted 8 traditionally formatted puppet slams, several medium to long form shows, workshops, immersive experiences, a 6 day puppet festival and embarked on a tour across the east coast and midwest. We Wiggle Dolls mission is to reach new audiences immersed in the world of puppetry, and to share as wide a variety of modern puppet works as possible, or at least some of the most exciting.

CAT RAVE

Break into the demented world of CAT RAVE, an immersive puppet experience that follows Crazy Hard Stuff (a bouffon-style clown) navigating her first job, finding herself in and through rave culture, and striking a balance between the two. The show centers on adult-oriented clowning, puppetry, and a lightshow rave with live circuit-bent instrumentation. Other ingredients include: a Clown, an Email Demon, the Rave Wizard, and YOU!
