☀️ SOLAR FLAIR ☀️ - Toronto’s daytime disco dance party - is launching in Ōtautahi!
For four years, this monthly project by 🚀 Planet Fabulon🚀 has been shaking up the way people party by creating safer, more intentional, choose-your-own-adventure social spaces where wigglers and wonder-seekers can connect, create, and BOOGIE! Now that one of the original co-creators has packed a bag, crossed the equator, and been snatched up by the new crew at XCHC, we’re launching the first-ever international chapter of 🌞SOLAR FLAIR 🌞 right here in Ōtautahi!
Think of the vibe as daytime at a festival meets a legendary house party. A co-created, participatory haven where you can embrace your own energy levels, soak up some sunlight through XCHC’s many windows, and still make it home in time for a proper sleep! Whether you want to sweat it out to some fabulously funky beats, engage with local interactive artists, check out the activities, or just find a quiet couch to chat with mates, there is a space here for you rooted in care, curiosity, and joy.
Because we want everyone to experience the magic, the first half is all-ages (with 1:1 active guardianship), then we shimmy into 18+ as the sun goes down, and ease back out into the world (no lights-on, get-out vibes here). In-and-outs are welcome all day and you can even bring your own snacks! Think of this as your space, your home, your place to play, lounge, breath, and be. There’s no right way to show up — just come as you are. ❤️

👀 WHAT TO EXPECT 👀
Funky choons from your fave local and not-so-local infectious disco and grooviest haus DJs from 3pm till 9pm making that sunny dancefloor THUMP. Then we take it down a notch til 9:30pm to help you transition out.
Interactive art walls, live painters, facilitated and self-guided activities, arts and crafts, games, flow artists, and more will be at every event so you can do stuff other than just be on your feet! These will ebb and flow across the event so show up for the whole time to make the most of what’s in store. We will have new offerings every month to keep things fresh! Reach out if you wanna do a thang… this is YOUR place to create, too!
There’s also a low stim space open for the whole event with squishies, fidgets, and calming visuals tucked away in a quieter corner for both our neurospicy sparkle-chasers and those just wanting a breather! Feel free to bring your own headphones and accommodations, or reach out to our supportive team to check in.

Solar Flair encourages folks to “dress as fabulously as you feel”...But if you feel like embracing those daytime vibes, show us your SUNNIEST FLAIR!
This is the place for whatever makes you feel light and bright! And as this space is for chilling as much as chatting, dreaming as much as dancing, cozy and comfortable is also welcome!

👶 KID-FRIENDLY HOURS
Kids are welcome from 3–6 PM, with transition time until 6:30 to help you pry the kids off the dancefloor. You’ll get in/out privileges if you need to do a handoff and return for more boogie.

Fully accessible and located on the ground level.
🌴 OUTDOOR SPACE
There’s a small private alley beside the building if you need a cool-down, fresh air, or a smoke break.

Bathrooms are gender neutral and fully accessible.

Bar on-site with boozy (did someone say Bloody Mary’s and mimosas??) + actually good zero-proof options!
🍕FOOD
Gotta feed the beasts if they’re gonna boogie all day! We will have many food offerings at the cafe available for purchase, but you can also BYOsnax if you or your kids need something specific!
