Solar Celebration at Minneapolis Friends Meeting

Minneapolis Friends Meeting, a gathering space for Quaker worship in Minnesota, recently transitioned to solar energy to deepen their environmental justice commitment, while stabilizing their budget. With their 12 kW solar array, they will save almost $50K on their energy bills over time, enabling them to continue support of social justice initiatives in the surrounding community.

On Saturday, May 3rd, join Minneapolis Friends Meeting for a solar ribbon cutting event to celebrate their new solar system. In honor of the Linden Hills Garage Sale, solar education booths will be set up starting at 10am, food available at 11:30am, and brief remarks and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:30pm.

Representatives from Southwest Alliance for Equity, Center for Energy and the Environment, Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light and more will be setting up the solar education booths. Local elected officials Linnea Palmisano of the Minneapolis city council and State Representative Jamie Long will be in attendance.
