"SOIL" af Aviaja Dance
“SOIL” er en danseforestilling, der undersøger, hvad der sker med et menneskes selvopfattelse, når det fundamentalt identificerer sig med en kultur, hvis sprog man ikke er blevet givet.
Hvornår bliver man en del af en kultur, og hvem er det egentlig, man længes efter at blive anerkendt af? Særligt sproget Kalaallisut (grønlandsk) og den kontinuerlige rejse i at mestre det, er central i Hammekens arbejde med “SOIL” – en kropslig undersøgelse af kommunikation, dens magt og dens nuancer.

ENG “SOIL” is a dance performance that explores what happens to a person's self-perception when they deeply identify with a culture whose language they have never been given.
When does one truly become part of a culture, and whose recognition do we ultimately seek? Central to Hammeken’s work with “SOIL” is the Greenlandic language, Kalaallisut, and the ongoing journey of mastering it— a physical exploration of communication, its power, and its nuances.
