About this Event
Would you like to minimize use of plastic in your gardening endeavors? Are you interested in creating the healthiest environment you can for your seeds and seedlings? Are you interested in learning a new gardening technique? Then join us for this lunch-time class on learning how to make soil blocks to start seeds instead of using containers. Are you new to gardening or seed starting? Not a problem! This class is perfect for all levels of gardeners. The technique can be used for both vegetable crops or ornamentals, so it can be adapted to all kinds of gardening.
In the class you will learn about why some gardeners use soil blocks, as well as their benefits and challenges. You'll also get a chance to plant some blocks yourself. This class will be hands-on, so be prepared to get a little dirty. If coming from work, bring an apron or smock to wear over clothes. Disposable gloves will be provided if desired. Class participants will take home a seeded soil block to nurture and plant out at the appropriate time.
Please note: Recording the presentation, either video or audio, is not permitted unless written permission is provided by the educator.
