Soil 101 - City Mill Sustainability Series

Come to City Mill for a free, talk story about soil health and maintenance with the University of Hawaii’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR/Urban Garden Center. Limited spots available. Please reserve one ticket per person.

Event Overview: Talk story with Tina Lau, Junior Extension Agent, University of Hawaii Urban Garden Center. During this hour-long session we will discuss:

• Selecting the right seed for your climate and disease resistance
• Starting plants from seed in starter trays
• Potting mix amendments in bags
• Fertilizers: organic vs. inorganic
• Transplanting seedlings from small to larger pot
• Appropriate container size

Tina will also be available for a Q&A following the talk, so be sure to bring your questions to get live answers from an expert.
