The Calderdale Branch is run by volunteers and provides support/ activities to families affected by autism. We receive no income from National Autistic Society, everything is funded through fundraising/ donations. We provide activity groups for children/ young people plus a support network for parents/ carers. Our groups provide a safe environment for children, young people, parents/ carers. Volunteers are also involved with statutory organisations as the voice of branch members. Autism is potentially an isolating condition for the whole family. Our groups provide opportunities for friendships and fun, there is always a sense of belonging, something many struggle to achieve.
