Join OLLI for a self-tour of the Kinsey Exhibit and explore the beautiful SoFi Stadium.
SoFi Stadium is a sports and entertainment complex in Inglewood, California, and is the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers football teams. SoFi occupies the former site of the Hollywood Park Racetrack, 3 miles from Los Angeles International Airport and immediately southeast of The Forum indoor arena.
The Kinsey Collection Experience features over 100,000 square feet of masterful works of art, sculptures, photographs, rare books, and letters. This Collection is the inspired work of Bernard and Shirley Kinsey, and their son Khalil, and is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive of its kind. Beginning over 50 years ago, the Kinseys have been on a journey of collecting fine art and primary source historical objects. Curated by Khalil Kinsey and historian Larry Earl, the exhibition focuses on the lives, accomplishments, and brilliance of African Americans from the 16th century through the years of slavery and emancipation to the civil rights movement through modern day.

In accordance with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health order (effective December 15, 2021) all individuals 5 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test. For guests providing proof of a negative test, it is required that negative results from a PCR test are within a 48-hour period prior to the event and negative results from an Antigen test are within 24 hours of the event, per L.A. County Health orders. Guests 18 years and older must also provide a photo ID with a matching name. Guests under the age of 5 do not need a negative COVID-19 test.
Kim Pavageau is a member of the OLLI Curriculum Committee and alumni of Loyola Marymount University and CSUDH. Kim is a retired school administrator from the LAUSD. She appreciates the opportunity to continue to use her experience in professional development to explore, learn and participate in discussions with OLLI peers.
