Join SocialHeart at Chicago's on Thursday, July 16th for "A Toast To The KC Spirit" in support of Kansas City Free Eye Clinic.

They are the mentors who show up before the school day begins, the tutors who stay late, the volunteers who encourage students through difficult moments, and the educators who believe in young people long before those young people believe in themselves. Their impact isn't measured in recognition—it's measured in futures changed. A Toast to the KC Spirit is an opportunity to pause, gather as a community, and celebrate the individuals whose daily commitment is helping the next generation discover confidence, opportunity, and purpose.
Hosted by SocialHeart, to raise funds for + celebrate City Year Kansas City, this evening is more than a celebration—it's a reminder that strong communities are built through ordinary people choosing to make an extraordinary difference. Together, we'll raise a glass to the educators, AmeriCorps members, mentors, and community champions who embody the spirit of Kansas City through service, compassion, and unwavering belief in our young people. Whether you come to honor someone who has made a difference in your life or simply to celebrate the power of community, you'll leave inspired by the people working every day to create a brighter future for our city.
About CityYear KC
Across the country, many K-12 students can benefit from additional support, relationships and resources so they can engage more deeply with their learning, stay on track academically, and graduate from high school prepared for college and career. And CityYear KC's AmeriCorps members, young adults, ages 17 to 25, can develop critical workforce and interpersonal skills and access exclusive scholarships through a year of service with City Year, helping them to achieve their goals.

Info: Get to the event, grab a drink, and mingle with your fellow SocialHeart young professionals! Our nametags will ask you to write down a fun fact about the hobbies, books, music, travel destinations (and more) that bring a smile to your face! We'll have different networking stations that are designed to encourage you to get to know your fellow attendees without asking about their jobs. Then - exchange those business cards, add those people on LinkedIn, and learn what they'll be up to during the work day!
