James (Jim) Wilson has been assisting individuals, families and businesses with private wealth management for 35 years. Jim is a well-known expert and advisor throughout Oklahoma and the Southwest. He advises investors on how to protect their assets from excessive taxation and excessive risks.

Jim’s investment philosophy is closely aligned with the Nobel Prize Laureate’s academic research and successful management principles of the University of Chicago and the Wharton School of Business. Jim was first exposed to these methods as a student of Economics at the University of Tulsa. He speaks publicly on these timely investment and tax issues. These risk management principles are widely accepted throughout the United States due to their proven success. Jim’s philosophy is, “Manage the risk first and the gains will take care of themselves.” Jim came to Tulsa University from his native state of Colorado and chose to make Tulsa his home. He married and began his financial career with the investment firm of Smith Barney and enjoyed much success. He finished second in his class and two years later, he was one of only 20 brokers nationwide selected to participate in a rigorous advanced management training program on Wall Street. Jim left this company and started his new firm twenty years ago.

James David Wilson, Jim’s oldest son is a partner. David has over 15 years’ experience. He has critical expertise minimizing or eliminating Capital Gain Taxation on highly appreciated assets. As well as Asset Protection; protecting client’s principal and interest against market losses. He grew up around the business, working after school, weekends, and summers. He is well-schooled in all aspects of the business. Jim and his wife Laurie have been happily married for 40 years. They have two other children: their daughter finished her studies at the University of Kansas and is employed by an International Private Equity Wealth Management firm in Los Angeles. Their other son after serving as a squad leader in the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan has now graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He is married and working in his profession in the Bank of Oklahoma Trust Department, managing client’s oil, gas and mineral interests. Jim and David enjoy spending time with family, clients, church, reading, and the great outdoors of Colorado and Oklahoma. Jim formed Wilson Investment Consultants to help investors protect their assets and their standard of living.
