Info: We will cover work incentives that apply to individuals who receive SSI benefits, including Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWEs), Blind Work Expenses (BWE), Student Earned Income Exclusion (SEIE) and Plan to Achieve Self Support (PASS).

Title II Benefits (SSDI, CDB and DWB) and Work Incentives

Info: Title II Benefits include SSDI, Childhood Disability Benefits (CDB) and Disabled Widow's Benefits (DWB). All three of these benefits have the same work incentives that apply to them. We will begin by getting a better understanding of Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) and then will look at the work incentives that Social Security may consider when determining if a beneficiary is working at SGA. These include the Subsidies and Specialist Considerations, Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWEs), Trial Work Period (TWP), Extended Period of Eligibility (EPE) and Expediated Reinstatement (EXR).
