About this Event

Are you struggling to keep up with social media?

Do you know you should be posting more but never seem to have the time? Are you unsure whether your content is reaching the right people? Do reels, algorithms and analytics feel overwhelming? Or are you simply looking for fresh ideas and practical advice?

Plymouth Culture and One Plymouth are offering a free 90 minute workshop designed specifically for Plymouth's creative community.

This friendly and practical session is aimed at artists, freelancers, makers, performers, creative businesses, community organisations and cultural groups who want to improve their social media presence and build confidence in promoting their work.

Rather than focusing on complicated marketing theory, we'll concentrate on simple, effective approaches that can help you make the most of the time and resources you already have.

The session will be led by Bracken Jelier, Content Manager at Plymouth Culture, and Scott Grenney, Co founder of One Plymouth. Together they work with organisations, businesses and communities across the city and understand the challenges many creative organisations face when it comes to communications and audience engagement.

Topics may include:

• Understanding your audience

• Creating content that people actually engage with

• Reels made simple

• Collaboration and cross promotion

• Growing your reach without spending lots of money

• Social media algorithms and analytics

• Account security and best practice

• Building confidence and consistency

• Connecting with Plymouth's wider creative and cultural network

There will also be opportunities to ask questions and get advice tailored to your own organisation or creative practice.

Please bring:

• A fully charged phone

• A fully charged laptop if you have one

• Access to your social media accounts

Free WiFi will be available throughout the session.

As part of Plymouth Culture's commitment to supporting the city's creative sector, this workshop is being offered free of charge. Places are limited to ensure everyone receives practical support and advice.

Whether you are just getting started or looking to sharpen your existing skills, we would love to welcome you.
