Social Media & Mental Health: Current Trends Amongst Youth & Young Adults

Agenda:

The session will begin with welcomes, introductions, and recognition of our Social Work interns, followed by an overview of the training focus, objectives, and an engaging opening activity. The remainder of the morning will include the main presentation with a brief break and conclude with closing remarks.

Learning Objectives:

• Become informed about the current trends in social media and mental health
• Discuss the dual impact of social media in everyday functioning from a clinical framework
• Define parasocial relationships and how these influence youth and young adults
• Increase an understanding of how to guide treatment related to harmful social media use

Parking Information:

Location: Coffee Box Parking area at 401 N. Mesa St. El Paso, Texas 79901

Validation: Parking will be validated using a QR Code that you will receive when you arrive at the training.

Important: You will need your License Plate Number. When you scan the QR code you will need to enter your name and email address to receive Confirmation.

If Validation is not completed, citations ($45-90) may be issued and mailed to the address on file for the license plate.
