SOCIAL ENTERPRISE DRIVE: Pitch Social £500: Microfund, Connect, Collaborate

Could you use £500 to create social change? Now’s your chance to pitch social!

The concept is simple: take a roomful of social entrepreneurs, give them a five minute slot to pitch their ideas, the audience votes for their favourite and the winner takes home the prize fund!

First prize £500 plus the takings on the door. £250 prize for the runner up!

Kick-start a project, connect with fellow social entrepreneurs and discover new Brum-based initiatives and the people behind them.

If the main pitch isn't for you, join our break out 'pitching circle' for a chance to hone your skills and get valuable feedback from peers!

There's plenty of time to network and collaborate too.

Refreshments provided, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available.

This event is for social entrepreneurs, changemakers, social innovators, students, people with ideas to change their communities for the better, people wanting to network and connect with others involved in social action projects.

This event has audience members and 'pitchees'. Please select the type of ticket you would like when you book.

To apply for a pitch you will need to have an idea beyond concept stage, that you can demonstrate will create either social or environmental benefit.

You will need to show that you have undertaken some initial research or trial trading, and that you have the drive to make it happen.

This is so we can make sure we avoid duplication and ensure the pitchees meet event aims!

3) We will be in touch to let you know if you've been shortlisted and if your application has been accepted

If you don't want to pitch but would like to join us to network and be in the audience, please select an audience ticket option.

Following successful application, your name will be added to the 'pitch pot'. We will randomly select six names from this pot on the night.

These are the selected 'pitchees' that will have the opportunity to deliver their 5 minute pitch to the audience.

We do it this way so it is fair to all applicants and we avoid any unintended bias!

The winner is decided by audience vote. After each pitch, the audience will have 5 minutes to ask questions.

The audience will vote for their favourite idea and the winner will receive the £500 prize fund. One runner up will take home £250.

If you're not selected, all is not lost! Even if you don't get the chance to pitch for the pot, you can practice your pitch in the pitching circle during the break out as well as network and make new connections.

These events are always a fantastic way to collaborate, build contacts and be inspired!
