Social Connections Learning Series: Part 3

Social isolation is a public health crisis! In fact, loneliness and isolation increase the risk for individuals to develop mental health challenges in their lives, and lacking connection can increase the risk for premature death to levels comparable to smoking daily.

So, what can we do about it? Join us at the Hive as we discuss the importance of the third building block of the Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework: Engagement!

Participants will hear from presenters, partake in conversation, and engage in meaningful activities that contribute to their sense of belonging. The focus for the event will be on the importance of and ways to develop a sense of mattering for parents/caregivers and children between the ages of 0-5.

The HOPE framework will also be used to highlight local examples, identify bright spots in our community, and share opportunities for engagement with the community and peers.

This event is organized by the Spokane Regional Health District, Akin,
EWU School of Social Work and Launch NW.

Social workers who attend the event will receive continuing education
