SoCal is beautiful pretty much all of the time, but May is a particularly good time to visit because it's springtime and the hills are as green as can be with sprinklings of wildflowers blooming throughout. It's just lovely. And since SoCal is Overdrive Adventures' backyard playground, you are guaranteed some of the best "insider" tours of all the fun roads.As always, we will bring you 3.5 days of SoCal fun. Welcome Day is the ".5" day and is Monday May 25. Our host hotel is the Hyatt Regency Westlake where we will enjoy our event check-in Happy Hour, during which you'll get your welcome goodie bag with fully detailed program itinerary, followed by a Welcome Dinner.
Based in Westlake Village, we will be uniquely situated to traverse several amazing roads on the following three days.
On Drive Day 1, we head north for the Ojai drive. Our drive includes scenic routes through five different counties! We will travel north into the city of Ojai, and up California Highway 33 which was featured as Hagerty's 2024 Road of the Year. Twisty roads take us through the sweeping plains of California Condor country in the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge and then up into the 8000+ elevation of Pine Mountain Club. Our journey brings us back down to sea level where we will enjoy dinner at the beach and a sunset in Ventura.
For our middle day, Day 2, we will go visit one of the finest automotive museums in the US – the Petersen Museum in the Miracle Mile district of museum row in Los Angeles, including lunch at the Meyers Manx Cafe with its classic surfer/beach genre that personifies SoCal. Our route to and from will include views of iconic Los Angeles landmarks and the famous Sunset Boulevard.
Drive Day 3, the "driver's day," features the ever exciting canyons of the Santa Monica mountains including the famed Mulholland Highway. This is our backyard, and we welcome you to our local playground of canyon roads which we can promise will not disappoint. These are highly technical roads and more fun than you can even imagine.
We conclude our Adventure with our evening happy hour gathering, gifts drawing, and the swapping of great stories and pictures of the last few days of excitement.
