So What? From Reaction to Intentional Action
About this Event
What if two small words could change how you respond to conflict, relationships, social media, and even the big problems in the world?
Based on Jenn Hayward's book So What?, this interactive two-hour workshop looks at the space between what happens and what you do next. Most of us react through a lens shaped by our experiences, emotions, and beliefs without even noticing. The So What? approach slows that down so you can see what you're bringing to a moment and make a more deliberate choice.
Through stories, conversation, and practical exercises, you'll explore your own lens, notice where you react fastest, and practise the power of the pause. You'll leave with a real way to pause before reacting, understand how your experience shapes your perspective, decide what's yours to act on and what isn't, and turn something overwhelming into one small, doable next step.
This isn't about caring less, agreeing with everyone, or having the right answer. It's about learning without rushing to judge, caring without carrying everything, and turning what you learn into choices that fit who you are and what you realistically have to offer.
You don't have to change the whole world in two hours. You might just leave ready to make one slightly better decision.
Details: Tuesday, August 18, 6 to 8 pm. $32 per person, includes the book and worksheets. Speak Your Soul Magicks, 5450 Canotek Road, Unit 41B (upstairs), Ottawa
About Jenn Hayward: Jenn Hayward is the author of So What?, a speaker, comedian, consultant, and community builder who has spent much of her life helping people turn good intentions into something real. Her work spans government, Indigenous organizations, entrepreneurship, consulting, and the arts. She teaches the So What? approach not because she has everything figured out, but because she has spent a lifetime reacting, learning, getting things right, getting things wrong, and discovering the value of pausing before deciding what comes next. Using honesty, humour, and stories from her own life, she creates a space where people can reflect without being judged or told what to think.
