Snohomish Block Party Youth & Young Adult Battle of the Bands

Bands with members 21 years old and younger will submit their music for consideration... up to 8 groups will be chosen to perform live. Be a part of the BotB audience and choose your favorite group. They could walk away Battle of the Bands champion with a spot on the Snohomish Block Party Street Fair Side Stage!

Where: Helios Ballroom on Avenue D, Snohomish, WA

When: Saturday, May 20th, 6-8:30 ish PM.

Entry is kind of free (well... $15 suggested donation at the door) but you must have a ticket for entry - space is limited! Please present Eventbrite ticket at door.

BotB audience members will get a chance to vote for their favorite band!!!

Know anyone ages 21 or under in a band? Have them enter for a chance to compete!

From the entries we receive, the Snohomish Block Party Judge Panel will select up to 8 bands to move on to the Battle of the Bands competition at the Helios Ballroom. Each band who makes it to the competition will get to perform 2 songs on stage for the Judge Panel.

Bands of all genres are welcome to apply. They will be judged based on the following criteria:

• Preparedness
• Skill
• Originality
• Stage Presence/Confidence
• Presentation

The winning Band will receive a spot (up to 45 minutes) on the Snohomish Block Party Street Fair Side Stage (in Downtown Snohomish, Saturday, August 26th, sometime between 3 and 6 PM) + Free tickets to the Snohomish Live Main Stage Concert at the Snohomish Carnegie (Saturday, August 26th, 6-10 PM) + BotB T-shirts.

1st Runner up will receive Free tickets to the Snohomish Live Main Stage Concert at the Snohomish Carnegie (Saturday, August 26th, 6-10 PM) + BotB T-shirts.

2nd Runner up will receive BotB T-shirts.

General Rules:

• Entries due by April 30th. Groups chosen to move onto the competition will be notified via email by May 6th.
• The majority of Band members MUST be aged 21 years of age or younger (we will allow up to 1 member to be older than 21 on a case-by-case basis).
• Full band must be available on BOTH Saturday, May 20th, 2023, between 4 and 10 PM, AND on the date of the Block Party - Saturday, August 26th, between 3 and 6 PM and must arrive to the Snohomish locations on time.
• Band name and lyrics of performance songs - for both BotB and for Snohomish Block Party set - should not contain any obscenities (keep it PG-13 rated or less, please), or be offensive to any group of people.
• Bands must submit either an audio file and/or a video file of a performance for consideration.
• All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
• The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be under the influence of an illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified.
• All participants are required to be courteous and respectful toward other participating musicians.
