The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council and the Mecklenburg County Health Department's Food Security Program have teamed up with the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market to provide SNAP/EBT benefits for our customers. Beginning on Saturday, August 10th customers can exchange their SNAP/EBT benefits for tokens at the Got to Be NC building near the ATM. This innovative program will also feature Double Bucks, allowing participants to receive double their value in tokens to use with select farmers and local vendors. A map will be provided to customers showing which vendors are participating and their locations within the market. Tokens will only be accepted by trained vendors from August 10th to October 19th. Customers can purchase tokens on August 10th and 24th, September 7th and 21st, and October 5th and 19th from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This pilot program will run for 10 weeks, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to support local farmers and vendors.
