🐴 SNACK-N-CINCH: BUILD YOUR OWN MOHAIR CINCH WORKSHOP w/ BIG SKY MOHAIR CINCHES!
Come spend the day learning the art of building safe, functional and beautiful mohair tack!
During this hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own 17-strand straight cinch while learning the foundational techniques needed to make durable, high-quality gear that will last.
✨ WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
• Stringing a 17-strand straight cinch
• Weaving in center D-rings
• Creating basic detail work and shapes
• Calculating 8-ply and detail cord
• Applying these techniques to breastcollars and English girths
• Proper cinch fit using live horses
• The pros and cons of different cinch styles and materials
Our focus is function first. You’ll leave with a strong understanding of cinch construction, the confidence to continue building your own gear and—most importantly—a completed cinch!
📅 DATE: Saturday, October 17, 2026
⏰ TIME: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
📍 LOCATION: Helena, MT (address will be given after registration)
💲 COST: $350 per person
YOUR REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
• All supplies needed to make one cinch
• Tools for you to keep
• A cinch frame to use during class
• A helpful “Tips & Tricks” reference sheet
• Hands-on instruction and live-horse fitting demonstrations
Please bring something to sip on, snacks will be provided, and a small notebook if you’d like to take additional notes. We’ll have a casual working lunch while demonstrations continue, so come ready for a fun and productive day!
⚠️ LIMITED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS!
Registration will be available to the first 10 people who complete registration and submit full payment. Once the class is filled, additional participants may join the waiting list. Those on the waiting list will be the first to learn about and have the opportunity to register for the next available workshop date in November (date is TBD at this time).
