Lecture on the dangers of vaping
About this Event

Vaping has emerged as a leading nicotine delivery device in the last decade. Whilst vape has been promoted as a smoking cessation method, it is now becoming widely used not only with adults that aim to quit smoking but also with teenagers and young adults who have not smoked before. A survey by NHS Digital has shown that vaping among secondary-school children is rising, with nearly one in five 15-year-olds using e-cigarettes in 2021.

Vaping and smoking cessation both involve breaking free from nicotine addiction and ingrained habits. Community support plays a crucial role in successful quitting as well as personalized strategies and professional guidance for achieving long-term cessation from vaping or smoking.

In this 2 hour seminar, experts in vaping and smoking cessation will focus on determining the similarities and differences in vape and cigarette use, the common effects and how information, education and awareness of the risks can support parents, teachers, nicotine users and community leaders to effectively communicate the facts and support cessation efforts.
