SMCT Children's Remembrance Service 2024

We are honoured to host the SMCT Children's Remembrance Service again this year on Sunday 8 December. A way for our community to come together, pause for a moment, reflect and remember the children who are no longer with us.

For many, attending this service has become a cherished annual tradition to commemorate their beloved children, while for some, this might be a new experience. We are privileged to organise this meaningful event each year and hope it offers a space for you to honour and celebrate the memories of your children.

During the service, we set aside a special moment for the recalling of the star. This star was acquired and named ‘Eternal Light’ in memory of all the babies and children who we remember every year during our Children’s Remembrance Service, a tradition we have upheld since the first service in 2005.

The ‘Eternal Light’ star stands as a symbol of unwavering love, comfort and joy. It illuminates our night sky today and will continue to do so for the days, years, and generations that follow. We hope its radiant glow serves as a constant reminder that throughout the grief process, you are not alone. The Children's Remembrance Service is an opportunity for support, connection, and bringing comfort to one another.

Should you wish to share a message on our tribute wall, please consider joining us at Café Vita et Flores located within Bunurong Memorial Park. We encourage you to place your star on this wall - let it symbolise that our spirits and memories still bind us together.

Please note: Doors will open at 4:00 pm with the service commencing at 5:00 pm

How to attend

The service will be held at Stratus Reflection Space, set within Bunurong Memorial Park. RSVPs are essential - please click the 'Get tickets' button at the top of this listing to confirm your attendance.
