Smart Lunch! Pump at Work Protection - Zoom option!

For more than a decade, the Fair Labor Standards Act has given many nursing mothers the space and break time needed to pump milk at work. The PUMP for Nursing M others Act, enacted in December 2022, extends these rights to more workers in more industries - including those in agriculture, care worker, transportation, school, retail, and restaurant industry.

You are invited to join this Smart Lunch that will equip workers and advocates with resources and information about the new law. Together we can ensure every nursing worker has the power to pump!

Érica Escalante works for the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division as a Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist for the Sacramento District Office. Érica began her career in 2009 withthe Wage and Hour Division serving as an investigator in the San Francisco Office. In 2015, Érica transferred to the Sacramento District as an investigator. During her time as an investigator, Érica has been involved in various initiatives and has conducted several complex investigations. In 2021, Érica moved into the role of Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist, where she builds relationships with various stakeholders, provides information on Wage and Hour Division, and assists in numerous projects for the Sacramento District Office.
