Smart Cycling Class in Brunswick, GA

Georgia Bikes classes are FREE thanks to support from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.

Do you know all you need to know to safely ride a bike with traffic? Do you feel you know enough to teach your children how to ride cautiously and conspicuously while on their own? When you drive your car, are you confident on how to share the road with people on bikes?

The Smart Cycling program gives you the tips, tools, and techniques to confidently answer YES to each question. Our classes are taught by League of American Bicyclists certified instructors.

The class will be held at 41514 Richmond St. in downtown Brunswick (the parking lot directly behind the Wick 3.0, 501 Gloucester St.) on Saturday, May 4, at 8-10 a.m.All participants must have their own bikes and helmets. Helmets are available from BWGI if riders don't own one. You must be 16 years or older to take this class. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who is also registered for the class.

In case of poor weather, this class will be held inside the Wick 3.0, 501 Gloucester St., Brunswick (without bikes).

Snacks will be provided, but participants will need to bring water.

To conclude the Smart Cycling class, join us for a family-friendly community bicycle ride through downtown and the historic areas of Brunswick in celebration of Bike Month! The ride is also completely free, but registration is requested so we know how many to expect. Helmets are mandatory and are available from BWGI if riders don't own one. In case of rain, we will postpone the ride to a future date.
