Most networking events put a bunch of people into a room and leave the rest up to chance.
Small Talk is being built differently.
Presented by Railz Hospitality Network, Small Talk is a curated networking social bringing together Houston’s hospitality operators, event planners, entrepreneurs, creatives, content creators, brand representatives and other professionals who are actively building things around the city.
There will still be plenty of time to grab a drink, catch up with people you already know and let conversations happen naturally.
But we’re also building structured introductions directly into the experience.
The goal is simple: if you make the effort to show up, we’re going to make the effort to help you meet people.
GUARANTEED INTRODUCTIONS, NOT JUST A ROOM FULL OF PEOPLE
Small Talk will incorporate , an interactive networking platform designed to turn rooms of strangers into one-on-one conversations.
There’s no app to download and no account setup required. Attendees can scan a QR code, enter their name and photo, and participate directly from their phone.
Throughout the networking experience, Reuneo will pair attendees for structured one-on-one conversations, giving people an opportunity to meet outside of the groups and cliques that naturally form at traditional networking events.
Instead of spending two hours wondering who you should introduce yourself to, you’ll actually be given people to meet.
That means newcomers don’t have to know someone before they arrive. Solo attendees don’t have to awkwardly work the room. And even people who already know half the room have a reason to meet someone outside of their existing network.
We can’t guarantee where every conversation will lead. We can guarantee we’re creating opportunities for those conversations to actually happen.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Small Talk takes over City Cellars from 6:00–8:00 PM for an after-work networking social built around introductions, conversation and collaboration.

Structured one-on-one introductions throughout the evening help make sure you’re actually meeting new people.
Cross-Industry Networking
Meet people working across hospitality, events, entrepreneurship, media, marketing and Houston’s creative economy.
Food + Beverage
City Cellars will be open throughout the evening for guests who want to grab food or drinks while they connect.
Free RSVP is available, but registration is required.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Small Talk is for people actively building.
That could mean operating a restaurant, planning events, growing a company, creating content, producing experiences, representing a brand, freelancing, building a community or simply looking for the right people to collaborate with next.
You may meet:
Hospitality owners and operators, bartenders, chefs, event planners, venue representatives, photographers, filmmakers, content creators, marketers, designers, entrepreneurs, founders, community organizers and brand representatives.
You don’t have to work in hospitality to belong in the room.
The point is actually the opposite.
Some of the most valuable opportunities happen when people from different industries finally end up in the same conversation.

Small Talk isn’t about collecting as many contacts as possible.
It’s about increasing the chances that you meet someone worth following up with tomorrow.
MORE THAN NETWORKING
Food and beverage will always be part of the Small Talk experience.
This edition takes place at City Cellars, with its hidden speakeasy, Cocktails Unknown, creating an additional experience within the evening.
We’re currently developing a limited-capacity guided cocktail tasting inside Cocktails Unknown featuring the Houston Craft Clash Champion as guest bartender.
The drink champion will take a small group through an omakase-inspired progression of cocktail tastings, sharing the ingredients, techniques and stories behind each creation alongside curated small bites from City Cellars.
Cocktail tasting tickets will be released separately and are not included with the free Small Talk RSVP.

The optional Cocktail Omakase experience inside Cocktails Unknown will require a separate paid ticket once released.
