Small Steps, Better Health: World Cancer Day
About this Event
Join us at The Sikh Temple for our final Small Steps, Better Health community event, taking place on World Cancer Day.
This is a FREE, friendly and informal event bringing local people, organisations and services together to raise awareness of cancer, screening and the importance of early diagnosis.
Unlike our earlier events, which have focused on particular areas of health, our World Cancer Day event will bring everything together and look at cancer awareness more widely.
We'll be encouraging open conversations about cancer, helping people understand possible signs and symptoms, raising awareness of screening and sharing information about the support available locally.
There'll be plenty to see and do, including:
- Free creative activities and workshops
- Health and wellbeing information
- Stalls from local organisations
- Cancer awareness and screening information
- Free refreshments
- Opportunities to chat, ask questions and find out about local support
- Our Small Steps, Better Health community exhibition, bringing together creations made by local people throughout the project
You don't need any previous knowledge and there's no pressure to take part in everything. You're welcome to come along, have a look around and get involved in whatever interests you.
Everyone is welcome and the event is completely FREE to attend.
