Not Your Grandma’s Craft Show
The 6th annual Small Craft Advisory Show is returning to the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center Sept. 20-21, 10-4 pm. One of the purposes of this event was to showcase local artisans whose craft transcends the usual kitschy birdhouse/ scented candles/ knitted scarf bazaars most folks are far too familiar with. There are still those who think craft is the dumb stepchild of art, but au contraire, before you generalize too far, come see what artistic stratospheres consummate craftsmanship can soar into. This is no popsickle stick twirler show. This is fine furniture, luthiery, sculpture, jewelry, thrown pottery, fabric art and much much more. You won’t find that birdhouse of your dreams but if we did have birdhouses, they would rock your boat. Small Craft Advisory, so fair warning.
