Join Studio Mell for a Small Business Saturday Drop-In Art Studio! Studio Mell is a small, cozy art studio in Baltimore, and we're so excited to spend our very first Small Business Saturday with you. It's also Thanksgiving weekend, so bring along any family that's in town, or come by yourself for a little creative time after a busy week.
Drop-In Art Studios provide a time for creatives to come and utilize our studio supplies, easels, and other equipment in a space to temporarily call their own. There's no instructor and no set project, so you can start something new, keep going on a piece you love, or just play with materials you don't have at home. We have acrylic paints, acrylic markers, watercolor paper and brushes, colored pencils, oil pastels, pencils, and a variety of paper types. Want to paint on canvas? You can add an 8x10, 11x14, or 16x20 canvas when you get your ticket, or bring your own along with any other supplies you'd like. If you'd like a canvas larger than 16x20, email us at [email protected] at least a few days before the event, and we'll set up a special ticket just for you.
Bring yourself and your creative energy, and we'll have snacks, music, and all the vibes! Drop in anytime between 10am and 1pm and stay as long as you'd like. Space is first come, first served, and kids under 12 are welcome with a grown up. Since the studio is a shared space, please be mindful of the other artists working around you.
You're welcome to take your work home the same day, or leave it with us and pick up where you left off at our next Drop-In Art Studio on Saturday, December 5th.
Studio Mell was started in 2018 by graphic designer and illustrator Morgan Elliott Phillips. She founded Studio Mell as a way to help non-profits, small businesses, and solo-entrepreneurs brand their businesses and show up consistently (and looking good!). Over the years, Morgan continued to work with those same individuals to bring publications, children's books, paint parties, and mobile applications to life for her clients. The fun doesn't stop there, because in 2026, she opened her first art studio to expand the creative studio beyond the many emails and zoom calls.
Our studio space is temperature controlled and parking is free. All you need to do is show up ready to create!
