Support locally owned and independent bookstores and honor your loved ones!
Makenna Morse, aka Ms. Morse, was an inspirational English language arts teacher who was tragically killed in a car crash on April 21, 2024.
To continue her story, and that of other book lovers,
Makenna's Books collects book donations for Little Free
Libraries across Michigan in memory of the literary fans who
are no longer with us. Over 2,600 books have been donated
and delivered so far!
November 29, 2025 is Small Business Saturday, it would have also been Makenna’s 28th Birthday. In her honor, we'll be supporting our beloved, locally owned and independent book stores.
Purchase a book to donate from any of these amazing small businesses November 28-30 and you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to their store!
An option to label donated books with a custom memorial sticker honoring your loved one will be available at each location.
