Set in Italy, 1900, Laura Samani’s spellbinding and visually stunning debut feature follows a grief-stricken young mother who leaves her seaside village to try and free her stillborn baby’s soul from Limbo. Upon hearing of a place in the mountains, where it’s believed infants can be brought back to life for just one breath to baptize them and save their soul, she sets off on a perilous journey, with her daughter’s small body hidden in a box, to a remote mountain sanctuary where she holds faith in a miracle.
