About this Event
Practice careful and slow observation skills on walk with one of the Naval Cemetery Landscape gardeners while taking a closer look at plants and other living organisms in the Naval Cemetery Landscape's urban meadow and pollinator habitat. Learn the names and characteristics of plants in the landscape and practice applying the knowledge individually through careful observation and guided note-taking and drawing. Native plants support a rich array of life: soil and other microorganisms, insects, birds, and us! Participants will hone skills in observation while considering aesthetics, form and function. Build skills in making observations in natural spaces.
