About this Event
Join us for a new workshop at the Top Floor, creating delightful slow-stitched sewing rolls using a treasure trove of Lewis & Wood fabrics.
The roll is not only a joy to stitch and look at but also has a practical purpose. You can use it to store those sewing essentials that you often need close by or when travelling. It can also be adapted to store other craft tools such as crochet hooks or even jewellery.
Liz will show you how to construct the roll from cloth pieces and adapt it to suit your intended use. We will use traditional embroidery hand stitches to embellish it. A variety of stitches will be demonstrated but even if you can only do running stitch the possibilities are endless. Using slow stitch techniques you will find the process restful and very satisfying.
Materials will be supplied on the day so all you have to bring is your imagination; however, there’ll be plenty of help on hand if you need some ideas.
A delicious lunch and afternoon tea and cake are included too.
Liz Taylor is a textile artist specialising in Slow Stitch techniques and offers a range of workshops in the local area.
