Slow Stitch Boro Patch Workshop
Schedule
Fri Jan 16 2026 at 06:00 pm to 08:00 pm
UTC+00:00Location
24 George Street, GL5 3DP Stroud, United Kingdom | Stroud, EN
Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of mottainai - a deep respect for resources - boro is the art of repairing and strengthening textiles through patching and simple hand stitching. Traditionally made from indigo-dyed scraps, these layered fabrics were born from necessity and care, turning worn cloth into something useful and beautiful once again.
In this workshop, you’ll learn visible mending techniques using easy running stitches. No experience needed - just curiosity and a willingness to mend. Together, we’ll transform “rags” into richly textured, one-of-a-kind patches, celebrating slow fashion, sustainability, and the quiet joy of working by hand. You could add your patch to an item of clothing or bag at a later date or just keep as a piece of textile treasure.
Come as you are, leave with stitches, stories, and something uniquely yours.
